What the grants are for:

Central heating systems (Warm Front Plus grant only)
Gas room heaters with thermostat controls
Electric storage heaters with thermostats
Converting a solid-fuel open fire to a gas-fronted fire
Timer controls for electric space heaters and water heaters
Loft insulation
Draughtproofing
Cavity-wall-insulation
Hot-water-tank-jacket

Who can claim?

If you are a householder and own or privately rent your home, and in reciept of one or more of the following benefits you could claim a government grant of up to £1500 to £2500

You can claim up to £1500 if you (or your partner if they live with you) are under 60 and have a child under 16 or are pregnant and have been given maternity certificate MAT B1, and are also receiving one or more of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance

You can claim up to £2500 if you (or your partner if they live with you) are 60 or over and recieve one or more of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Council Tax Benefit
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Pension Credit
  • Housing Benefit

You can claim up to £1500 if you (or your partner if they live with you) are receiving one or more of the following benefits:

  • Income Support (which must include a disability premium)
  • Housing Benefit (which must include a disability premium)
  • Council Tax Benefit (which must include a disability premium)
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefits (which must include a disability premium)
  • War Disablement Pension (which must include a mobility supplement or constant attendance allowance)
  • Working Tax Credit (with an income of less than £14,200 and which must include a disability element)
  • Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £14,200)
